About Kevin Streelman
In 2001, after playing all four years and graduating from Duke University, Kevin turned professional to pursue his dream to play on the PGA Tour. Attaining his dream to be a member of the PGA Tour was harder than expected. While trying to chase his dream, he competed in mini-tour events around the country, on both the NGA Hooter’s Tour and the Gateway Tour. While playing on these tours, he experienced great success, winning a handful of times and always finding himself in contention to win.
Kevin was able to get a taste of his lifelong goal while playing in the 2005 U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee (his first PGA Tour event). Not only did he play in the event, but he played well, shooting a 5-under 65 before eventually finishing in a T29. On the mini-tours, Kevin was gaining confidence as he won the Opelika Classic in 2006 on the Hooters Tour, and had three wins on the Gateway Tour in 2007.
Finally, in December of 2007, at PGA Tour Qualifying School, Kevin earned full status playing privileges. Since then, he has excelled on tour. At the 2008 U.S. Open, Kevin’s first major championship, he was the co-leader after the first round. Five months prior to the U.S. Open, Kevin also received a great amount of publicity at the same course, Torrey Pines, after being paired with Tiger Woods on the third day of the Buick Open. Kevin played in the final group as he vied for contention in the 2008 Travelers Championship and the 2008 Barclays tournament, in addition to a run at a win at the 2008 Wyndham Championship. Kevin had 8 top 25 finishes in his rookie year and 4 top ten finishes. He finished the 2008 season 78th on the PGA Tour money list.
2009 did not disappoint either-with 2 top 10 finishes, 6 top 15 finishes, and winner of the inaugural Kodak Challenge, Kevin is proud of his sophomore season and excited to get started on his third year on tour.
Kevin was born and raised in Wheaton, IL and currently resides in Scottsdale, AZ.
He graduated in 2001 from Duke University where he majored in Sociology. Kevin enjoys playing the guitar, following Chicago Cubs baseball and Duke Basketball, and hanging out with his Shih Tzu dog named “Snoop Dogg.”
